Queen St Mall

Shop up a storm in the heart of Brisbane. Queen St Mall is the perfect place to get a feel for the city. With a large selection of fashion retailers, you can spend hours exploring the arcades and stores along the boulevard. Big name brands line the main street, with smaller boutiques tucked in amongst the historic alleys and arcades. Queen St Mall also offers endless entertainment, with galleries, cocktail bars and plenty of open air space to enjoy the warm Brisbane weather.

Visit South Bank

Parklands and eateries abound in one of Brisbane’s main cultural hubs. Walk along the Brisbane river, or relax at the streets beach, manmade lagoon. Check the calendar for events at Southbank, with live music, art exhibitions and markets every Friday, Saturday and Sunday. There are four dining precincts, with casual dining, cafes and bars, or treat yourself to a formal meal at River Quay.

Embrace Art & History

Take in an exhibition at the Gallery Of Modern art, or visit the Museum of Brisbane to learn more about the city’s vibrant culture throughout time. From here, you can even take a historic tour of Brisbane, or journey to the Brisbane Botanic Gardens.

Take the City Cat Ferry

Explore Brisbane from the central Canal that runs through the city on the City Cat. Take a scenic ferry ride along the river and stop off at any port that takes your fancy. The Ferry links West End, Southbank, the Botanic Gardens, the financial district, and New Farm, where you can visit the farmer’s markets.

See  Tambourine Mountain

Just 80km’s out of Brisbane is a rainforest paradise to explore. Stroll above the canopy on the Skywalk or enjoy a sunset with spectacular mountain views. Take a walk to discover the many beautiful waterfalls and jungle oases hidden in this natural haven. Join a tour of the glow worm caves to see these unique critters in their habitat, or discover crystals at the Thunderegg Crystal Mine. If you need a reviver, sit down to try a drop at the Tambourine Mountain Distillery, with a selection of unique liqueurs, schnapps and spirits.

Visit an Island

Explore Bribie, Stradbroke or Moreton Island from Brisbane for an exciting foray into the coastal wilderness. At Moreton Island’s Tangalooma Island resort, you can interact with and feed the wild dolphins who will greet you in the pristine shallow waters. This large sand cay island is a magical escape with gorgeous beaches and vast landscapes to explore. Stradbroke Island is a popular destination where you can find a variety of beachside accommodation and plenty of activities, from bike hire to wildlife watching there are lots to do in this laidback yet adventurous destination. At Bribie Island, you can lose yourself in nature amongst thriving flora and fauna simply by driving across the bridge that connects it to the mainland.
