Following the easing of travel and venue capacity restrictions, Qantas has announced it will reopen some of its domestic lounges around Australia.
The lounges have been closed since 23rd of March 2020. The phase will commence from 1st of July 2020. Not all the Qantas lounges will open. They will start with 11 of its 35 Domestic lounges. During the closure, all the Lounges have undergone a deep clean.
Qantas has announced that Perth, Adelaide, Sydney and Canberra will open, followed by regional lounges in Coffs Harbor, Broom, Alice Springs, Kalgoorlie, Karratha, Tamworth and Launceston.
From July 10, Queensland and Victoria will open as current restrictions are eased.
Initially, customers will be subject to Lounge capacity with plans to open Qantas Clubs and Chairman’s Lounge in the weeks to come.
Some things will change when visiting Lounges.
* Numbers will be capped.
* Self serve buffets will be replaced by a hosted all-day snacking station.
* Coffee cups will be disposable.
* There will be additional cleaning protocols.
* Customers will have access to sanitizing stations.
The menu will be individually plated and will change daily. There will be a bar person and barista to take coffee, fresh-squeezed juice, beer and wine orders.
Qantas has extended Frequent Flyer tier status for 12 months along with extending Qantas Club membership for 6 months for those eligible.
