If you are travelling by car, Byron Bay is located just 6km off the Pacific Highway. For those travelling via plane, there are three airports within 2 hours drive of Byron Bay, the closest being Ballina Gateway Airport, a 30-minute drive south of Byron Bay offering daily flights to and from Sydney, Melbourne and Newcastle.
Best time to go:
Although the weather can climate of Byron Bay is a pleasant balance of sunshine and fresh ocean breeze, most ideal times to visit are during September to November, where temperatures are most comfortable and the average rainfall is the lowest.
